Jiaogulan (scientific name is Gynostemma pentaphyllum) is a plant that grows wild in many parts of Asia. It is sometimes called Southern Ginseng or Miracle Tree.

Jiaogulan contains substances that may help lower cholesterol levels.

People often use jiaogulan for high cholesterol, diabetes, liver disease, obesity, and many other conditions, but there’s no good scientific evidence supporting most of these uses.

Do not confuse jiaogulan with miracle fruit, or with aloe or gymnema tree, also sometimes called miracle tree. Also, do not confuse jiaogulan with other plants called ginseng, including American ginseng, blue cohosh, canaigre, codonopsis, eleuthero, Panax ginseng, and Panax notoginseng. They are not the same.

How to use Gynostemma pentaphyllum tea

– Soak tea bags in 500ml boiling water (100oC), after 3-5 minutes it is ready to use. You can add ice if you like.

– Every day should use 3-5 bags of 2g filter or 2-3 bags of 5g filter.

– To get the full range of good active ingredients, it should be boiled or mixed in a water bottle.
